Can you identify this hallmark?

    Hello! I cannot find what this hallmark is. It is on three piece silver tea set… any help would be appreciated! Thanks a lot!

    Thanks for the info, Olimpia. I was thinking that your set might have been made closer to your home, but this mark (not a hallmark for sure) does not look like any Italian mark for solid silver that I am familiar with. With no other marking, it is not likely to be solid silver mark from anywhere, actually.

    The second image you posted looks more reasonable than the orientation of the first and it does bear a resemblance to a few US maker's marks for silver plated items, but not exact enough to say for certain.

    Don't give up hope, though! We have several other members who are good at silver marks and others with amazing search skills who may be able to ID it.

    you'd needed a specialist for older Italian silver because there was the Papal State and all the other small states and city republics before the risorgimento.
    then there were many "fake" marks in Italy similar to the Hanau marks in Germany. attenzione ! this does not mean that the items are not silver, but that the taxes were "saved".
    to start with Giorgio's silvercollection is certainly the best; check the states one by one.
