Hi all! I have this brooch that is in two parts that are chain connected. What do you think it represents or depicts? I was thinking perhaps it is South American with a Mayan, Aztec or Incan connection. Perhaps a souvenir. Google lens has been no help. Can anyone point me in a direction to research? The figure is 2" high, 1 1/2" wide and the bow is 1 3/4" long and 1" wide. The pins have roll over clasps so not antique. Thank you.

That's the polite way of putting it! ;)

The object next to the bow looks like a head just like the one on the standing figure, who seems to be holding something up in triumph. For me it goes more with an Aztec vibe. @komokwa ?

I'm sure I've seen this one, but my brain may be farting again.

I have a hand embroidered sign in my living room that says "It's not junk. It's a collection" I am right there with you.

Not a representation of a Kachina dancer imo.
The figure is also holding a stone axe or club and seems to be wearing a feather headdress. Maybe it is meant to be a Native American.

Part of the problem in evaluating is... The two components don't seem to be positioned correctly. Isn't he meant to be holding the bow? And I don't see Amerindian.

After Bronwen commented I checked to see if the bow (and presumably the accompanying head) would somehow fit into his outstretched hand. But it does not as the "hand" is curved tightly with no room to insert the bow "string". Plus then the chain doesn't lay correctly. It does seen like his top hand should have held something.

    just some artist having fun.....
headdress, with headband, stone club and bow all suggest American Indian ..
it's a depiction.....and a whimsical item, not meant to be any one tribe or person....

    imo...
