i think its from north macedonia, looks like metal, its an orthodox religious cross

It looks like a travel icon in the shape of a cross. The metal plate inside would have been painted in the places where the holes on the case are. The tiny paintings would have been the face of Christ, and possibly the faces of archangels or of the four evangelists.
Can you see any remnants of paint on the inside plate?
