Featured Can someone shed any info on these 1700-1850 pieces of pottery?

    Hi everyone! I was wondering if someone could shed any light on these pieces of pottery. Maybe a better date range and what they would be called? They would be before the 1850s. Found under a Mennonite addition on a Harmony Society home. From what I gathered, the occupants of the home threw all of their trash out the rear window, where these were found. Later, Mennonites built an addition on the rear of the home, covering these items.

    Well, yes, but shards (sherds?) from what? Look like they're part of some utility wares which could have been made not far from where they were found.

    Can you clean them? There seems to be a lot of dirt on them which doesn't help when trying to ID what they are made of.

    Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

    Are you in possession of these, @Sam1994 ? If so --Do any of them fit together, or are they from multiple objects? Believe there are several museums that study such artifacts, and may be able to help in identification. Also, you could try asking somebody at a museum or historic site devoted to the Harmony Society. There are a few such places findable online.
