Can somebody help me with this bayonet

Hello I purchased this bayonet from an estate sale but I can't figure out where it is from. There is no maker marks that I can see. There is a 2 and maybe a symbol which should be in the photos. It looks pretty old but im not sure. Any help you can give will be appreciated. Thank you

that's an odd duck......at 1st glance it looks like a movie prop. or home made..???

 

It doesn't look normal to me either. I did a little research and found some bayonets where made for cadets for training. I seen a few examples of this. I really dont know.

 

Gewehr rifle WW1 ... most common bayonet was the Sg 71 ( S -71 ) far left.

u seem to have the brass handle.....beat up...and the guard ...put on backwards...
and a replacement blade of unknown origin or mfg......

but German model 1871....likely dress model...because of the blade...
is the best place to look for your bayonet..

Its supposed to be a German M1871 bayonet I think. I just dont know if its real or fake.

least we forget - "Germany" was militarywise still split up in the differing States, so some more differences - although small - might show up.
