If it's original, that's some sleigh, but it's the kind of thing that gets reproduced using modern technologies.

These baby carriages look old, but they are all brand new, made as decorative pieces.

I hope your sleigh is genuinely antique, but things like this can be decorative reproductions. I do not know what indicators there are to tell the difference between old and new.

    Welcome, Dieter.
It is a lovely sleigh, but as moreotherstuff said, there are reproductions, especially popular in the 1980s, but still made. Those reproductions are handmade, so there is still craftmanship involved.
In my opinion the brown layer on your sleigh looks applied, rather than genuine antique dirt.

I have never seen an antique sleigh with this brown layer. Sleighs were, and still are, very well taken care of, kept clean to prevent rot, and parts repaired and paint reapplied when necessary.

I have found several very similar pieces online using a Google image search with the keywords "dutch snow sleigh"

All of those sleighs are too crudely carved to be Dutch or French, and the figures are rigid, with no expression or elegance. They are all recent repros, probably made in India.

Some genuine Dutch sleighs, antique examples from northern to southern Netherlands.

Thank you i have seen this one. But its a lot smaller than mine.
    The wood looks realy old.
Let's treat it as if it were an original one.
I will go to the german show "Bares für Rares" with it.

You say yours is 224cm so about 88", the one at auction they say is 81" so not a huge difference depending on how it's measured.

Don't know anything about the TV show or how accurate they are but do let us know what they say.

I'm with the reproduction crowd. One way to tell... the carvings of the woman and dog are slightly grotesque. This one doesn't even hide its Chinese origins.

Omg, this is like @Bronwen s cameo thread, you don’t realise how amazing the top class ones are until you can compare.
Wow! This is how to travel!

"That's some _______" is an idiomatic way of saying a thing is an impressive specimen of its type. More of a colloquialism, really.

I find you don't realize how bad the mediocre ones are until you compare.
