Can anyone Identify This Piece

    I inherited this from my mother, who was a collector. It is an umbrella/hat stand. I believe it it maple. Is this stick & ball design furniture? What period is this from?

    It is an umbrella stand. While I can see why you might call this stick and ball, I don't think it quite qualifies as such. Does look like maple. I see these from time to time but don't know too much about them. I would think maybe 20s-40s.
