Featured Can anyone ID this little guy?

About 6 or 7 inches high, no marks that I can see ... might it be Czech, Art Deco, and Ditmar Urbach? There are some DU musicians that are similar, but I can't find this one. Any help would be appreciated. Cheers

 

Base doesn't look like urbach to me. Maybe MIJ (made in Japan)?

 

Thanks Jeff. After a lot more looking I agree that it ain't Urbach, but I don't believe it's MIJ. I've seen one other but can't remember where. It is similar to Urbach musicians and figurines -- bar facial details and colouring, and the clogs are too big and it isn't stamped Ditmar Still, no worries. Thanks. Any other suggestions welcome.

 

Sorry, but I agree with Jeff. It's the bottom that gives it away. The stark white and those two openings are really typical of MIJ or even Made in China. They might have been trying to copy the style of some of the mid-century California figurines.

In a way it reminds me of the old "Coppertone" ads with the young girl in a two-piece bathing suit and a small(ish) dog trying to pull down her "bloomers."
