Can anyone help me with identifying this mirror

The seller told me it is a late 19th century italian mirror. But it looks like it could be 18th century and French Régence/Louis XVI to my untrained eye.
Can anyone help identify the era and approximate value?
It also looks like the frame could’ve been cut up at some point and put back together, is that from the construction or was it cut down to be transported years ago?

I think the seller told you correctly. Id call this Rococo style. I wonder of this is a marriage too .

 

The two pieces mate up, but someone made a mess on the back. I haven't seen enough intact antique ones to know if that's a mess of a marriage, a mess of a repair, or the way they put it together 150 years ago.

I think that is what johnny meant by Rococo style, as opposed to Rococo (of the period). It is what I meant, anyway.

 

Something odd about the proportions. I think it's a marriage too with a cornice being added to the mirror frame.

From my research it’s in the French Regénce style which was in-between Baroque and Rococo (here’s some examples). It also has mercury glass didn’t they stop using that in the 1830’s?

Actually, by Rococo Revival I meant a specific style ca. 1840-1870, an unusual movement that was more academically rigorous than the Rococo of a century earlier. Rococo style is a loose borrowing of motifs with results either more or less pleasant, but hopefully commercially viable.

ps the crest on the O.P.’s piece reminds me of the crest on John Henry Belter’s Rosalie with grapes etagere ca. 1850s.

 

I would call that 'loosely based on Rococo' or 'some Rococo inspiration' etc.
