Coat of arms of The Hague
The coat of arms of The Hague is the official symbol of the city of The Hague.

It consists of a golden escutcheon with a stork in natural colors holding a black eel, a count's crown as coronet, and two golden lions rampant regardant as supporters standing on a green decorative compartment.[1] On 27 September 2012, the motto Vrede en Recht (English: Peace and Justice) was added to the compartment, referring to the city's global recognition as the home of international justice and accountability

Sounds right. I couldn't see the first R in hand at all. Horrible script.

Calling all Dutch. All of us? Over 16 million, are you sure?

I lived in 's Gravenhage for a while. I love the town/village, but there were definitely some Gardenhags around there.;)
Officially The Hague is still a village, because it never received town rights. It started life as a count's hunting lodge with a large enclosure. The old name is 'Die Haghe', the enclosure. 's Gravenhage, 'the count's enclosure', is the 17th century name, still used officially today.
The colloquial name, Den Haag, is the name mostly used, although my posh relatives insisted on 's Gravenhage. My grandfather would say that beautifully. He said everything beautifully.
