    I have been sent this photo asking for any info. I can get other photos if needed as I suspect a closer view of the clock face and one of the works might help! :cyclops:

    Any info I can pass on would be great. Thanks! 8A997392-AA6E-4642-8C26-573D3E5484C4.jpeg

    It's sort of a 2-part question: one is the clock and the other is the case.

    And Anund is on the money. The owner wrote: "FRAs Perigal" (The small s is up at the top of the A as to where I have
    it, on the lower part). :singing:

    @afantiques
    Can we narrow the date down a bit? Late 18th c?

    Af hasn't been seen since April 11.

    I do hope AF is OK and that he hasn’t caught the virus. Fairly stringent lock-down in Britain right now, too.

    I joined a clock group in Facebook and received this reply which I think pretty much gives the information I need.

    “Your clock is 1790 give or take five years either way. It is a top quality clock with maintaining power (it keeps the power on when the clock is wound). The dial would originally have been silvered all over. The hands look to be later replacements. There are several Francis Perigals listed. Yours is probably Francis the third apprenticed in 1778 and died 1843. Congratulations you have a very fine clock. Treasure it. As to value; clocks are well down at present but certainly well into four figures.”

    I did wonder about the brass dial. I bet several someones lovingly polished it over and over! ;)

    Neither have I but I got a message through ebay from kentworld.

    I have had some computer problems, and don't like using this one too much, so I went silent for a while.

    Normal service should be resumed as soon as I get a new laptop.

    The clock seems to have been pretty well described already.

    No disease at AF manor, but I have not been out of the house and garden for a month.
