Cake plate?

    Hi all, picked a few things up today. R S Germany. Also is this called a cake plate? approx age

    Looks like the reproduction 1998. The new RS Germany mark currently on reproduction imports is the crude handpainted mark shown above left. It appears in bluegreen paint. Original marks are green or blue . Someone else may have a different opinion.

    not 100% sure but the mark on my plate looks blue. I'll look at it outside but I can't see any greenish to it

    Can't say that I can make out the mark well enough to have an opinion on it but the decoration would be about right. Hydrangeas and roses were popular RS themes.

    I can't tell you what the plate is for without a size. It's not a master cake plate (those usually have double handles) but it may be an individual serving size plate. Please include size with your posts especially when inquiring about usage.
