All are vastly different and I wonder if anyone can shed some light - are they different ages, from different countries or just different makers.
The two that are pairs seem much finer, and the third single one doesn't appear to have silver, but some metal that is greyish, almost black.
Thanks in advance for any help.

Mamluk (revival) is the style, Cairo Ware is now the generic term used to describe these damascened pieces. Islamic refers to them being made in an Islamic country, Syria/Persia/Iran/Egypt are regions where such pieces were made.

It is very difficult to pic apart what was made where, a rough guide is that the finer the quality the earlier they tend to be, and better examples are also more likely to be made in the Damascus region rather than Egypt. The Syran (Damascus) ones tend to be earlier, late 19th century until the inter-war period. The Egyptian ones tend to be early 20th century through until the 70's.

Great, thanks so much for that. Makes sense, the piece I think looks the oldest (middle one) while it doesn't seem as well made, the pattern is much finer than the others. cheers

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

I like the look of them... as decor items.

Yes, they are all lovely in their own way, although I prefer the first two to the last. That they are the pairs means they make a lovely display. I prefer items to have some age, but make exceptions for the beautiful and unusual.
