Bundles of stuff...

Hi all,

I've noticed some amazing people on here. Such an inspiring amount of expertise. I have a load of varied jewellery that has been inherited by my mum. To share, am I best to try and categorise stuff (costume, rings, etc) and create different posts... or just throw it all into one thread?

JMHO, but I think bundling would be best. Please include clear, sharp photos of the front, back, any clasps and close ups of any marks

If you do combine several pieces into one post you might consider limiting the number to maybe 5 or 6 pieces & they do not all have to be the same type. In my opinion, more than that & the posts tend to get sometimes confusing as they become multiple pages long. Also, it will get confusing as to which pieces have & have not been identified.

It is also a good idea to put a small piece of paper next to the item with a number on it. This would avoid confusion as to what piece a member is talking about.

Clear close-up photos of the entire piece on a plain uncluttered background with good lighting & photos of all of the marks is a must. One of our members uses a plain white paper plate to photograph her jewelry & it works out great.

Hi. Thank you all for the tips. Unfortunately I had already taken a lot of pictures (with dark backgrounds) but will definitely bear this in mind for any further photos. I will post in batches in separate threads.
