I have no experience with antiques. We inherited 2 plates. In our believe they may be antiques. Can anyone tell us if they are indeed antique items? If so. Where can we find more information? What are they worth? All information is welcome.

    Hi,
I would check out Buffalo Pottery it was a division of The Larkin Soap company. They made many a pattern of china.

Not antiques yet, it would appear. Lehner's book on American Pottery Marks shows this "buffalo" (left-facing, head down, tail up and one knee bent) as having been "registered" in 1985, claiming use from 1956 onward. The previous marks showing the animal had tail down and legs all straight.

    Hi KoT,
No mostly china for the masses. Although the buffalo looks like it might be for a restaurant company. Hi Bakersgma thanks for the information. I only know the older stuff.

If it's thick, heavy stuff it's institutional or restaurant china. The plates are made to be tough.
