Brown bead/seed necklace?

Hello all, bought this today.

120cm long necklace, hand knotted 8mm brown/white coloured beads. All the same size, lightweight and warm to touch. I can't see any seam lines but they do feel like plastic. I'm sure someone here will immediately know what they are.

They may nothing exciting but were in the same box as some quality items so I bought the lot.

 

You think plastic rather than stone?

With the little gold bead spacers, looks like 1980s early 90s jewelry. That style was very popular made of gem stones, onyx, quartz, jasper, etc.

 

Far too light for stone, these would definitely float in water. Also they are hand knotted, not spacers. It probably is costume from that era, I just needed a second and third opinion
