bronze statue

Is this bronze statue 19th century? It is the depiction of the 2th french president Adolphe Thiers. It weighs 4757 grams and is 33 cm high. It has bomb damage from the first or second world war.

Hahaha i love your reaction. The reson i think that is that it has a huge crack in the base and the base is pretty bent also and the dent on the head and nose show a sinificant fall. and part of the head has been blown off and been repaired with tin to replace the ear and back of the head .

 

I guess that's possible......but so is the thought of a French wife , busting it over her husbands head after she found his mistresses panties under their bed.......

he lost more than that. i must have been a big fall. but is it 19th century to come back on my question? By the way the black and white photo could my statue before the damage?? When was the photo taken?

 

His costume is late 19th century but that is no indication of when the figure was made. If you click on the link I posted, you'll see the date of the photograph is not given.
