I get lost figuring out origins. . . looking for the basics. 8 inches tall, looks fairly old.

Probably Tibetan, depicting Chakrasamvara, an important manifestation of Buddha in Tibetan Tantric Buddhism. @Any Jewelry will be able to explain the religious significance better than I can.

It is important that the base is sealed, which indicates that the image has been consecrated/activated by enclosing small sacred objects such as pieces of scripture.

As far as I know Chakrasamvara stands on Bhairava and another divinity (can't remember).
This one is in the same Yab Yum position, but standing on coiled snakes. It is certainly Himalayan and tantric.
I can't get to my Himalayan iconography books right now, so I can't look it up.
