Bronze/ Copper Plaque of Fisherman - Advice Needed.

Hello to all at Antiquers!

Please can anyone help give advice on the maker/ artist of this piece?

I would also like to know if this is bronze by at least its appearance? Unfortunately only have one photo of this.

I'm thinking of buying this from an auction but would love to get some more information before I commit.

Does appear to be bronze or, maybe, brass with applied patina. Styling suggests 20th century in origin.

 

What does the back look like? The image looks like it came from something larger - with the pole cut off and the line reappearing.

I won this in auction this evening for £9.92 (which includes fees) comes with some brass wall plaques featuring ships etc. I think this was a good punt and hopefully should do well

 

looks like he's going to whack that fish with a club

 

At least it will be a well battered fish
