Unearthed this from the garage.First I read it as Geert Maak-nothing in the art world-just Geert Mak,the famous Dutch Journalist & Writer.
Then I found Geert Maas,a sculptor, studied at The Hague who moved to. Kelowna,BC,Canada.
I guess these folks will keep signing their work the way they sign.At least his guy's not as messy as some of the MCM potters !

I wish we all lived in the same county.I'd have a big garage sale, dump run, vacuum, and we'd turn it into a studio.

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

Beautiful! You could start an entire thread about the contents of your garage, I imagine.

Thanks Fig-I do have quite a bit of stuff out there.Trying to cull a bit before I do the Thrift/Dump run !
PS-It's against my Capitalist Religion to toss anything worth more than a $100.If I can sell a grand or two of stuff,it could bring my hourly picking wage up to 3 or 4 cents an hour !

    Oh NO :hilarious:

At least you have a profit cut-off for the smalls. I had to learn when I was younger that I really had better things to do than list every single thing on the Bay.

My Wife did accounting for years, she lifted the scales off my eyes as far as selling antiques/collectibles on Ebay & hourly wage after taxes, med insurance, gas, etc, etc.
I think I actually netted more as a grocery cashier.
PS-To brighten yer day, checking weren't as much fun (or frustrating) !

Doing the math is IMPORTANT. A thing I'm constantly trying to tell people who think casual picking is fun...or casual art. Do something because it brings you enjoyment but don't lie to yourself about what it actually costs/returns. And always remember the taxes.... :grumpy:

It's great exciting sport to me (& i get steps in) but the odds of finding an ugly 100K hunk of Murano to bump up all those wages is nigh nil.
You might as well pick used lottery stubs out of the trash odds wise ?
