I saw this pair of vases yesterday at a local Mall. They're bronze,10" tall and heavy.Archaistic-style,I realize they're not ancient, but can anyone decipher the bottom mark ?
    They seem a notch above the normal Chinese repros & they're $150 a pair-worth buying ? vase1.jpg vase2.jpg vase3.jpg

lol I didn’t get that. Is it a maker’s name or type of object? And for your mark I don’t recognize it as any character, but I’m not expert in calligraphy tho

Sorry Shamster-I was just requesting another members name who translates Chinese.Do you perhaps think this is modern or 100 year old vases ?
There are so many new ones made.

Not expert in patina either. What I can do is image searching on domestic aliexpress and they’re selling similar stuff, newly made with patina. So red flag for me;)

Thanks for searching Shamster.I figure 99.99999% of 'ancient' stuff was made yesterday.

Not too bad, as repro still cost near 80 usd there, if it’s solid bronze lol

It is heavy bronze w/ a lovely patina-so at $150 a pair seems reasonable.

Bronze ain't cheap, so if they're solid bronze that price isn't outrageous.
