    Not your every day question.

This wood carving was in the free pile at an estate sale last week.

I have an artistic neighbor who makes respectful shrines and displays out of religious items, usually not broken ones, so might or might not be something he would be interested in, but was going to offer it to him for free.

Before I hand it off, wanted to be sure it is not a piece that would have some value I'm not aware of.

Obviously has significant damage... missing a face, part of a foot broken off. Just a vintage carving from Mexico, maybe?

It's got age on it; odds are it was old when someone added that eye bolt to the back of it. Someone rescued this a long time ago and you rescued it again. No clue if it's worth money.

Just a note, it is a corpus, just the body. Minus some parts.
It could be antique Mexican folk art, maybe @April07 knows if it has any value?

Value on something like this may depend a lot on the provenance; I didn’t read it all but maybe someone’s cancer went into remission shortly after you got it? I see a lot of “historical” stuff on Eboo where stories have been concocted. Most are pretty stupid and only a gullible person would bite. I’m close to a person who is a firm believer in Voodoo, and spends all his limited funds on things advertised on the web to break Voodoo spells. Sad to see.
