the Meissen versions of this go for a lot. This one has repairs to the flowers and is that a firing crack? I love the little cherub trying to be helpful.

Isn't that Cupid, with a quiver on his back?
Maybe the eggs stand for broken relationship? Hope of a new life (eggs) crushed?

Looks to me like the cupids were responsible for the egg basket being dropped. One is hiding from chastisement & the other is suing for forgiveness.

Here's a Meissen version from worthpt along with another complimentary figural. its very similar to the Edme one. This pair sold $1700 per worthpt. Other Meissen versions go about 400-750.

Plus that the Meissen figurines are much more detailed.

Yep,also I think the uncolored biscuit ware allows the virtuoso modeling to really shine.
PS-How after 230 years you'd find one of these in perfect condition ? It'd be an act of God.
