Hello, I am trying to see if I can find some more information out about this cast iron belly pot/cauldron in my family. I know it is from Ireland, at least from before the 1960s. However, I have seen some listings for similar "duck" labelled cauldrons on Ebay which say it belongs to a British brand (but they never state which one). I am trying to see if anyone would know which brand this duck image (seen below) is the maker's mark for. The underside of the pot looks like it has a sprue on it (potentially making it an 18th century item), but I am not very familiar with cast iron so I'm not sure if I'm misunderstanding what a sprue is supposed to look like. There is no gate mark and the legs are approximately 1.5 inches long.

Have you tried doing a rubbing to see if any of the letters stand out under the duck.

There's a good British website called oldcopper.org which has a fair few marks. Have a gander, if you'll pardon the pun.
