There are some older square nails as well as more modern nails. And the bottom ½ of the legs don't match the piece.

could it be a type of root cellar....movable ....& with room for kitchen tools ???

 

With that stamp inside maybe a patented kitchen work/baking center. A place to make and roll out dough. Flour in the bin. Rolling pins in the side boxes. Flip up table top for working. Maybe the pre-cursor to the ubiquitous baking racks of a slightly later time. May not necessarily have been for home use. We tend to forget that baking was an every day job and something like this would have made it easier.
