Featured Brass Turtle Thing

    Thanks. Likely a flower frog. Still looking to find one like mine with swiveling neck and tail.

    Cute - may have had a bottom it sat on that contained a "bed of nails" on it to hold stems in place better. Probably jointed to fit different sized bowls or containers if used that way.

    "Bed of nails" would make it work, with the outer rim so much shorter than the center, flowers would flop forward. Jointed to fit different containers seems likely.

    IMG_2661.JPG IMG_2662.JPG IMG_2663.JPG I do find similar ones as well and seems like Japan is likely the country of origin.
    I wonder if mine is a bit on the rare side being made of brass, having the waves decoration at the rim and with movable tail and head.
    By the way, there was another turtle flower frog sitting next to this one but I did not buy it as it seemed more recent to me.
