I picked up this old brass trivet with an unusual design, can anyone identify? At first I thought maybe a 10th military regiment but doesn't seem to match any.

That's a thistle, Jason. Symbol of Scotland. I'd look in that direction.

With the St Andrew's cross, also a symbol of Scotland.
    So definitely a Scottish trivet.

Unmistakably Scots. With no military association. Wonder where the laurel wreath comes from. Anyone know. Off the Burns monument?

Those are thistle leaves imo, with those serrated edges. I had a Scottish round thistle charm with the leaves like that on my charm bracelet as a child.

Oh, of course they are! Should have been obvious to me... if I'd stopped and thought about it. Thank you for pointing out.

Thanks everyone, so thistle and St. Andrew's cross! Way off from the pineapple I thought it was.

Needs a good polish. And you will want to remove the verdigris which will only damage it over time.
