Brass thingies?? What are they?

    These are probably an easy one for you but I can't figure them out. Two solid brass end pieces with some very fancy rope around them. About five inches long. I'm thinking bed ends, curtain ends heck I don't know. Could be french. No makers marks. PICT0012.JPG PICT0013.JPG PICT0014.JPG PICT0015.JPG Someone please put me out of my misery.

    French curtain rod ends with tie back tassels ....

    best I can come up with.....
