Brass table being used as a plant stand.

Hello, I got this old brass table/stand from my aunt many years ago. She said something about it being a smoking table from the 1870's, but I am unsure about that. We currently use it as a plant stand. It's 32 inches tall and 18 inches wide. Its missing one top finial cap and two marble pieces on the top. There are no makers marks that I could see on the underside. The glass pieces are not original and probably not what was supposed to be there if it was some sort of smoking table. Any information or comments are welcomed. Thanks and stay safe out there.

 

20th century and likely Italian.

Yes the glass is definitely not original. I assumed there was some sort of ashtray on top that matched the material the finial knobs are made of.

Agree with the early 20th century designation. To me it looks like Victorian Revival ca 1920.

Agree also that the shelves would have been onyx, probably matching the finials.
