Brass somethings, any ideas? I have none.

I can't even think of terms to use for searching. I thought they might be for air registers but didn't see anything close.

They came in a lot at an auction and no one seemed to know what they were. These don't match and are different sizes with the larger one being 7½" long and 1½" high. They have little bumps like the must snug fit into something. No maker marks.

I doubt they have any value other that curiosity.

    Hi,
Just a thought could these be from an old room heater? Like a pot bellied stove?

Holy shamolies I had no idea that old stoves could have so much brass. I'll have to google around to see if these look similar to some parts. Were you thinking something like this?

I'd be thinking more floor register type whatsits. Or maybe some kind of brass surround for a laundry chute?

I've seen these referred to as miniature brass fenders, used as ornaments or as commercial traveller samples. Have sold one once for a dolls house.

I've always known these as small trivets to attach or put on a shelf of a coal burning stove to keep your teapot hot.

Your answer feels right. As they free stand they could be used in pairs but it would be interesting to see one (or more) clipped to a stove supporting a teapot

    Hi,
That was exactly what I was thinking when I brought up a stove. I think if it was anything else it would be more complete as to design.

I'll keep looking along those lines as well as any kind of register/grate I can think of. Dern why can't things at least have some sort of mark lol?
