Brass owl stamp

    I have this 4” heavy brass owl and only just noticed a makers stamp ...BLA...as seen in pic
    Can anyone explain what this stamp represents?

    Looks bronze to me and quite well made, the stamp is the artist/sculptor. Anything on the base like a metal foundry company marks.

    Thanks...yes I thought it may be bronze but unsure...it has a felt base well stuck done ...unsure if to lift and check at the moment
