Brass or Bronze Old or New Ganesha 4 Arm 1 Tusk

    Hi,
    How do I tell if this is new made to look old? How to tell if brass or bronze? This doesn't attract a magnet but I'm not sure if the magnet is strong enough - I scratched a bit inside and goldly colour showing through. There was a bunch of dirt inside, but that doesn't mean anything. Details look good to me, the fingers are well molded, in photos
    3 & 4 - damage on the mold line on the outside;last photos show the bottom, one with the flash and one without.
    Any ideas or info appreciated.

    I am guessing it is brass and made within past 20 years. You should give the size of objects you post. Looks like an inexpensive tourist souvenir-not great quality especially noticeable toward the base.
