Brass or Bronze Mortar - any way to tell how old?

A very heavy for it's size mortar - no pestle, sadly it's pestle-less. About 4 inches high - maybe 4" diameter at the very top. Weighs 1975 grams(4 pounds 6 ounces). Has the number "2700" engraved into the bottom. A rare earth magnet does not stick to it.

Neat looking BUT doesn't look like a mortar. Maybe I have the terminology wrong. Looks like a good wine goblet! :woot:

Looks like a typical nonferrous pharmaceutical mortar to me, probably late 20th or early 21st C. One feature they all have is a bottom inside contour that matches the curvature of a pestle. If it was simply a goblet or something similar, the inside would be more cylindrical.

Thanks much Springfield - was pretty sure it was a mortar - just didn't know how to date it. I knew it wasn't ancient but just don't know enough about them to date it reasonably. Very much appreciate your knowledge and help.

OH - "mortar" like mortar and pestil. My mind read MORTAR and went right to lobbing shells at the enemy!
