Brass or Bronze Boxes (Tea Caddy?)

I found these two boxes at separate places over the last few months. They're both rather light weight, with hinged lids. The larger one has some silver patches, like it was repaired or once plated. The inside of the large one is silvery, while the inside of the small one is the same hue as the outside. They both have numbers/symbols stamped on their backs- 3] for the large and 27 for the small.

 

I think the large one if about 6" was for cigars and most likely was silver plated.

 

Think both modern India imports. Think you are seeing sloppy solder on the one.

 

OOOOwwwww.....neither look old...or vintage....and both are made sloppy....
