Brass and glass inkwell, Victorian?

    Hi everyone! I have been caught out before, wondering if I have an older piece this time rather than a mid century copy? It was listed at auction as Victorian but they are notoriously inaccurate. What age do you think it is? Thank you as always :)

    The square nuts on the bottom make me think older, but it looks stamped as much as cast. But... the detail is quite good, and usually the copies aren't this crisp. so....dunno.

    Agree with Evelyb. Definitely shows the quality of an older piece.

    I agree older. I am looking at the wear on the cap hinges and the brass lip of the jar where the opening and closing of the lid would have rubbed.

    Agree old but not Victorian. Think more Vienna Secessionist.
