Ok I have soooo much stuff in multiples from the various businesses I've had, and yup, just hoarding, I've gotta get rid of some. My initial thought is to make up a delicious buffet of wonderful objects that would be irresistible to the average Antiquer. I'd fill a medium flat-rate usps box with these gems and offer the give-away for those who were inclined to send a physical address label with $13.35 postage cost. If u can't afford that but want the box I'll honor a few "charity requests" so-identified by applicant, those paying something but not full amt. For those with a pre-offer posting history only, must include your username so I can check. My thoughts on what to include at first are new pairs of various types of work gloves (say 4 pair+ per box), a gross of parasol pics, a few green bouffant caps, coupla small beam clamps, lg s/s hose clamp, some ceramic pens that engrave glass (without handles,) scarce Coke Xmas card if I can find that box, a new small tool I haven't id'd or if I did, I forgot, a real leather sail palm, small pack of old sail needles (needles inside may be rusty,), glass salinometer in orig wood box, maybe some military insignia like uniform patches, small brass unfinished nozzle, and dupes of above or other random NOS items to fill the box. May not include each item but most will be in it. Send $ and check to (this isn't personal info!) Global Stone, 6314b Gravel Ave., Alexandria, VA 22310. If check or m.o., must Be made payable to Springfield Arsenal LLC. Sorry, for where USPS $13.35 flat-rate boxes will reach only. Arbitrary limit of three boxes per paying user applies. Pls post if you find anything mentioned here either improper or objectionable and I'll change or cancel. "Retail" prices of these items would be some hundreds of dollars. Don't worry about us running out of these items-won't happen! Pls don't ask for further details on box contents, because you WILL like it, unnerstand?
You're too funny !!! They still make em today...but as a kid I'd sometimes buy the 5 cent pack of unknown candy surprise.....just to be ...surprised.......hoping not to find that Halloween roll candy....which always tasted bad !
Very creative, springfld! I might buy a box as a collector's item, and add it to my own NOS! What're NOSs ? Classic! Lol
NOS is a common term for online sales like on Eboo, means "new old stock" as in made in 1937 but still unsold, maybe still in orig package.
Well I'll probably think of s few more things to toss in; in honor of Veteran's Day I'll also include a WWII steel ammunition clip from a 40mm anti-aircreft gun. May have slight oxidation or dings but at least "Good" condition. All comes from a smoke, drug, and rodent-free (remember Linstock, our snake?) building. If you want a double order, send the postage fee for a large flat-rate box and I'll fill it with about twice as much stuff.
Well, ok, ok, not enuf, I get it, will also put in some official photos of pieces in the Navy Combat Art collection, maybe a 1/4 in. Stack or so. These are large B/W glossy photos made by the Navy.
Anybody qualified as described above is also eligible to have a NOS/NIB sealed 50' roll of Acco No. 10 brass finish deco chain, if they pay for the large flat rate box and include a note requesting said box/roll of chain. Gosh, this deal is sounding so good I might try offering it 4 sale on Eboo or the other E thing!
SO, Spring, are you saying you've reached YOUR LIMIT????????? SAY it AIN'T SO!!!!!!!!!!!!! Your HUNTS/EXPEDITIONS have been SO FUN to follow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
No, don't even use the "L" word please! Just looking for ways to manage all the ju.., no, I mean, uh, things!
You said Navy photos. I say @KingofThings where are you????? (LOL) Those medals ought to be calling his name too, and better him than me - as in he'd better get there first before my resolve wavers!
My resolve fell flat yesterday & the check went in the mail today. I sent you a private message yesterday with my address & other pertinent information.
I didn't see this until Ev made the thread pop up for me! I'm interested for sure. And the Navy medals too wherever they are.
Ok, anyone wanting more volume in their box to be occupied by a certain category of item, just mention it in a note with your postage payment, and we'll try.
Thanks but somehow it didn't arrive, maybe send again? Anyone else, might be best to include all the info in your letter. We don't take Poopal which I mention because some are bound to try that way. Well I look forward to sending out some goodies. Edit: well Duh! For me, figgered out that one has to go to one's inbox to get messages! I guess I thought there'd be an email telling me to check there, but anyway I know what to do now!
I don't know fully what I'm asking for in regard to any Navy stuff nor what I'm required to do for it. I'm in transit home over today and tomorrow.
The Navy bits are photographs, IIRC. The medals look like test and partially completed bits and maybe some dies. I couldn't see them well enough to know what they were from, but any old militaria in a storm, right?
