Got this ring at a coin show for around scrap price. It fit me nicely and I really like it! The sapphire isn't the best quality and is pretty hard to see the star reflection at times. My question is what would you all date this piece? My gut tells me its 1960s or 70s... Am I right or wrong?

    It's nice!
That cross hatching and geometric style look mid-century to me.
    I'm thinking 40s-60s.
    Just my opinion!

Id so wear that ! Is that stone possibly a replacement? It looks like the welding(?) around the bottom connector isnt as fine as the rest of the ring. Id have thought even earlier, maybe 30s. I ALMOST pulled the trigger on a mens 14 k diamond ring the other day but just couldnt bring myself to part with $1200 ! But oh how I wanted it.

The engraving doesn't look like it was done by a professional, the stone looks loose and tilted in the setting. The stone was cut with a low dome and would never show a good star.

I'd be thinking 1960s. The stone is likely a replacement.

Yes, I think the stone is a replacement as it was definitely set lopsided. Unfortunate but it still looks nice and you could never tell without looking at it closely!

I also noticed the ring had been resized at one point. Is it possible the stone was taken out then and reset into the ring resulting in the lopsidedness? (the stone being original)

Figtree3 What would you do if you weren't afraid?

That's what I was wondering, too. It seems possible.

I find it more likely that the stone sunk into the setting.....
it took a hit...or got dropped
and whatever is propping it up.....buckled !!
