    Spiffy looking Clarice Cliff Staffordshire covered jar? Any idea what this is used for? THANKS!

    I think for whatever you want to out in it. Maybe tea bags? Don't think it had a specific use.

    A holder for one of those tall jam jars? I'd call it a "whatsit holder" and leave it at that.

    It's well post war and these weren't actually designed by her, they just used her name. Looks like stem ginger to me.
