    Hi,
I'm wondering if this would be some sort of bomb that has been turned into a lighter. Stands 5 1/2"H, there is no way to open this so I'm not sure how it would work. In the 3rd & 4th photos you can see where this was cut/opened but has been sealed shut, the little wheel will turn although it is tough to turn. No marks anywhere on this. I found a couple of similar items, they were identified as Japanese, they had marks on them. I guess this could be considered Trench Art if it turns out to be a bomb.
    Any information appreciated.
    thanks for looking

Only part that is military is the fuze. The tailfin assembly is made up from soldered brass parts, if it were military it would be steel and spot-welded. That bulbous body is probably shop-made also since it looks like brass and again a similar military item would be steel. Also the shape of that bulb isn’t correct for any mortar shell or other projectile I’ve seen. But it is still trench art since the fuze is real.

    Thank-you KOT and springfield!
KOT I looked up bazooka round but didn't find anything similar. It is cool, I wish I could make it work.

So shop made lighter with a real fuze - I had to look up what part the Fuze is (the pointy part at the top).
