Hi there, I have this sweet little bud vase that I am struggling to identify. One board I was on had a couple people who thought it was Loetz based on the patterns in the decor. I contacted the person who runs the Loetz site in the US (not an official site) and they said that based on the shape it's not a Loetz, but thought it is definitely from the 1898 era and might be a Kralik. I am struggling to find the Kralik decors to compare.

    It's in a brass/bronze(??) base.
    about 6 1/2" tall
    2" wide-ish

I don't even plan on doing anything with it, other than enjoy it, but my ADHD hyperfixation is making me slightly obsessed with finding out the maker/date for this vase.
Thank you so much for any help you may have! IMG_6784.jpeg IMG_6786.jpeg IMG_6787.jpeg IMG_6785.jpeg

Is this little number six/9 '6'or '9' shaped mark (it's sideways) look like any kind of makers at all ?
    PS-Can you see what I mean ? Let's get @Aquitaine in on this-she's great w/ photo manips.
PSS-You also need to keep studying the glass for any marks/signatures,they can be extremely faint, almost invisible.

Thanks! I did notice that with the foot, it's a very very slight impression '99' I think.
I went all around it with a magnifying lens and could not detect any signatures. I'm attaching closeups of all three feet, two seem to have the 99, and on one of them, it looks like there might be a faint '1'?

I don't know if that will help identify this piece, since the foot could have been made by another place? But, it might be good to know. Part of me is like, "Why do I care so much?" but another part of me is like, "all this sleuthing sure is fun!" lol IMG_6859.jpeg IMG_6860.jpeg IMG_6861.jpeg

Aquitaine Is What It IS! But NEVER BORED!

@bosko69, here's what I did....top image I tried to make what looks like "1971" for a date, but can't be sure of it...sorry! Also circled on the lower part what looks like possibly "C R". The Middle image I enhanced, contrasted what I saw (BUT cannot interpret for the most part) and aimed the two top red arrows to one area, and the lower red arrow is the other main area.....the marks almost look somewhat 'Arabic' to me, but also not an area of expertise I'd be familiar with! Lastly, when I was double checking the vase.....see if you think what's on the bottom part of the vase image that I cropped down....(lightened, contrasted & circled) if you think it "COULD" be a signature... ALSO, I see @Marie W found what looks like "99"!! .....it looks like there are possibly two small letters or numbers in front of the "99"...........GOOD sleuthing @Marie W.......!! Will try to check it out tomorrow....time's gotten away from me tonite!!!!!

    Thanks Aquitaine-great work as always.
Here's the interest on the metal fittings-I recently found a Japanese Meiji/Taisho lamp w/a bronze base. The only marks are on the bronze-'PEG'. That mark is for 'P.E. Guerin,Inc'-the oldest decorative hardware firm in the U.S. founded in N.Y. in 1857. The porcelain sections Japanese, the bronze base is American.
Now I've got 1 more clue in figuring out who made/marketed my lamp.
PS-I still have to disassemble the lamp to look for more clues- sleuthing's the real rush for me.

The vase may be WMF. Base looks French.

@bosko69 I think so! Thank you.
I spent a few hours perusing Kralik oil spot examples and Loetz candia papillon pieces and it really does have more features of the Loetz. The Loetz.com person who replied to my email said it's not Loetz because she's never seen that shape before-- but then I read an article by Eddy Scheepers (who used to run the Loetz site), and he stated that there are probably 40,000 unique styles that they made, but only about 4,000 are documented in the currently available books. The Loetz.com person also told me that it looked like it could be Kralik oil spot-- but when I look at that, it is definitely more "earthy" and have less of a sheen than this piece which has that greenish sheen like the candia papillon. *She also said it didn't look like any shapes she was familiar with, but this one right in their website looks like a similar style (definitely bigger/rounder).*

The more I research, the more I understand why attributions and accurate details can be so elusive! I have acquired several interesting glass pieces in the past year, and it's been so challenging to identify some of them.

I think for the sake of my brain, I will consider it unknown for now. I do have one collector on another site who has offered to buy it from me. I’m happy with my cute, yet mysterious, bud vase.

This site is so helpful! I will definitely try posting my other mystery glass here. Thanks again!
