Blue Glass Item Wheel cut design

Picked this up today. Stands 10 3/4" tall and measures 8" across the top. I think is wheel cut. I thought about it and don't think its a glorified waste basket. Any help? The base also has a wheel cut circle.

 

Well, since this thread has been sitting here since Saturday afternoon with no replies, I'll take a stab at it and hope it generates more eyeballs.

Shortly after you posted this, kraftblue, I did some searches with key words that popped into my head.

Acid etched cameo, sandblasted cameo.

There is a lot of modern art glass that comes up in those searches, but I didn't find this pattern. A lot of Pilgrim Glass and Correia Glass especially, along with other named glass artists. But still, I didn't find anything so big as yours, unsigned or this pattern design.

I used words like trumpet flower, bell flower, tube flower, fuchsia flower.
Can't figure out if the other part of the design is supposed to be leaves or fruit.

Here's hoping someone else has more, better ideas!

 

Thanks Laura. Someone suggested I post on a Facebook Bohemian glass group. Someone really only said the term sand...someone else said it looks modern. You did quite a bit..

 

I also took a look around for a bit and looked in an Art Glass Nouveau book I have...I am just going to list it as Sandblasted Acid etched Cameo...didn't pay a whole lot.. Don't think I will ever find maker.

 

Those are brugmannsia. Sometimes called angel's flowers, I think. The arborea variety has round fruit.
