Featured Blended Glaze Pottery Vase - Looking for ID

Hello everyone - I'm calling this a vase although I guess it could also be a candlestick. It won't really work as a pitcher since it doesn't have a spout. Anyway it's about 6 1/2" high. It is unmarked and has three stilt marks on the bottom. There's gold sprinkled into the glaze on the handle and top ring. I think there's a better name for this glaze than "blended" but I can't seem to recall it. Can anyone give me any info about it like possible maker, age, country of origin, or a better name for the style? Thanks much!

Well the trouble is it has no spout for pouring. Maybe a lamp would be more likely?

 

I see many olive oil jugs with handles & no spouts....

 

Oh I see what you mean now. Forgot all about these - usually only see them now in restaurants. Still I think mine is more on the decorative side.

 

I think it's an oil lamp, also.

 

It looks like a Rockingham glaze to me.

Hello folks - just reporting back. It's Chillicothe's Florentine pottery from Ohio. The factory was only in existence from 1901 to 1905. It is a vase - It was ID'd on the Vintage American Pottery Identification facebook page.

Well then it must be extremely rare !!!

& BTW...did they suggest it's use ???

 

I was told most of the shapes made by this pottery were purely decorative.
