Featured Black Stone Carved Frog Figurine

    Any idea what is the stone, it changes color from black to whatever color that it.

    Try searching "golden sheen obsidian".
    I had some jewelry that turned out to be that stone, long ago.
    Your frog looks similar in the pics, so that's my guess.:smug:

    I also think obsidian and likely from Mexico.

    Yep. The carving is dead on for Mexican too. They make this stuff for the tourists, and probably their own use too.

    I searched and found my old pics from 2007.:joyful:
    The gold/golden sheen obsidian looks pitch black until under bright light, the golden sparklies appear.

    My pics were under fluorescent light, which makes it look slightly greenish-gold.
