Black lacquer and abalone metal vase

    Another metallic find. A brass (I think) vase with black lacquer and abalone finish. My initial thoughts were Japanese but Google is suggesting Korean also. It's 15cm tall.

    My first thought would be Korean too. The Japanese didn't do the shell work IIRC. The metal base might be something the Koreans learned from the invaders. (Japan invaded and took over Korea for a while. )

    Cool thanks. The shape definitely has a Japanese influence
