We just acquired four Audiodiscs from the 1950's with recordings of the Bing Crosby Show, with Fred Astaire listed as a guest on two of the labels. A colleague has tried them on a record player, and says they are in good shape. I'm trying to get a sense of their value. I'm not seeing similar items going for very much, and am curious what people here think. I see many sold for $9.99 on eBay, but with more obscure content.

Apparently, Audiodiscs were the "cassette tape" of that era. Of special note, the sleeves warn that the thread cut from the discs (when the original recording was made) is very flammable and to keep it away from sparks and flame!

What do people here think? Thanks! ... Dave

The value of that particular recording will depend partially on the RPM and record size.

The highest percentage of value is determined on whether or not you had already managed to lose all 4 front teeth, top and bottom. If so, the inability for any listener to translate what the hell you are trying to say can cause hysterical laughing and quickly change a depressed person to one who MUST go dancing that evening.

That result can add significantly to value. Sometimes reaching as high a figure as ten cents.
