My feeling is much more recent then the 70's. 2000 or so IMHO. I haven't seen that exact figure that I recollect but these kind of painted to look vintage or antique fantasy pieces were popular for a while.

I concur...but have seen these in the 80's as decor objects...

Yes, I remember them from the 80s as well. They also made musicians, etc.

Werent these made out of a sawdust composite to look like real wood? I agree 70s-80s.

I agree with buying time not as old as the 70s.
    More late 1990s - now

Old geezers on bikes weren't popular in the 70s. Bikes were still associated with Hell's Angels and the bad crowds at that time. I'm not saying everyone who road a bike in the 70s was bad, just that I don't think they would have been a decor item then.

Agree that it's fairly recent, a shop here in Orlando was selling these from the late '90s until just a few years ago...

This does look very well-done, assuming it is a actual carving and not cast from wood composite or resin. Some castings can look very much like real wood, so much so that their owners have believed them for years to be carved wood. I have some doubts about this one...
I'd be checking the spokes in the tires; if not metal, they'd be pretty much impossible to carve in wood.
