I'd say bicycles like that were in production in the '50s and '60s. I don't know how much earlier or later.

Is there a manufacturer's plate on the fork cylinder?
    Anything on the chain guard?
I suspect a Schwinn with the two tone seat.

The hanging lamp reminds me of one I bought brand new in the 80's, but a better look at the cap and chain might change that.

I agree with moreother on 50s for the bike. Mine was red, though. ;)

Can't help with the lamp. I agree that the bicycle's seat looks like a Schwinn, and would also date to the 50's-60's, plus or minus.

I don't think huge value on the bicycle unless some rare feature I'm not seeing from the photo. It seems to be a standard model and looks a bit rusted out and in pretty used condition. Plus, its a women's bike, which is more common.

I learned the following in person at an Antiques Roadshow event: Women's vintage bicycles have a lower resale value than men's vintage bicycles. Apparently gals took better care of their bicycles. So finding a good condition men's bike is more rare. Maybe this price difference is just for the cream of the crop models, not sure.

At Antiques Roadshow (2004) I started up a conversation with a woman who had the most amazing vintage bike, all bells and whistles, top of the line, massive chrome headlight, pristine, design that screamed 1950's, and showroom new. She couldn't walk ten feet without someone stopping her to ask about it. With all these antiques and priceless paintings (someone even had a coffin they were wheeling through...) this bicycle was what was stopping folks in their tracks. The owner had it appraised at AR, and was told that "if it was a men's bike instead", value would have been (I think)...3K higher. The one she had was really amazing, I think it was valued at $1,500 or something, which to my eye even seemed low for what it was. But guess gender matters!

As for the bike on this post, I'm sure someone will want it, don't throw it out, but not huge value, in my opinion.

The bike does look similar to Schwinns of that era, but think the chain guard and the dark side of the seat would be green. Also don't think the frame down from the handlebars to the pedal region had a cross bar. I think it was just 2 flowing bars or whatever it is called.

Then after seeing and comparing the above, came across the following of late 1940s Schwinn girls bike. Gee, it looks like this one of what these old eyes can see. The big differences are the stands. The one online has a fold down stand in the back while the OP's bike has a kick stand. Also the Op's fenders are chrome, silver, while the one online has blue fenders. The one online looks repainted or has new fenders??? Scroll about 2/3rds of the way down the page where there are several pics of a 1947-48 Schwinn blue girl's bike.

Here are Schwinn serial numbers from 1948 to 1958. Nowww I haven't a clue where the serial number on their bikes are located.

I got a small/medium size Schwinn for 1947 or 1948 Xmas. For the life of me can't remember much about it. Xmas 1952 got a Schwinn with hand brakes and thin tires. Boy, I thought I was really "uptown" with that bike. If memory serves, I think we called hand brake bikes "French" bikes??

I agree with all. It is a $50 bike at best unless proven to be something rare but if it is it's surely missing the most important things.
Keep it and ride it! Check the tires and brakes, wash it up, wax it and add whatever you wish. :)

I bought this Huffy at GW for $50. It is brand new retro but the donor hurt the seat surface bringing it in, probably, but it doesn't make any difference because I bought a cover for it, a horn and a bell. :)
Oddly enough, 2 days ago it hit me why I like it so much.
It's just like the one stolen from me when I was about 9. :(

I'd like to find the Yellow Submarine Stingray one. :)
