Hi new to this. And I just saw the post about brown furniture. Yikes! I just purchase for a steal (now I know why) two beautiful Berkey and Gay mission style club chairs and a Berkey and Gay side table. All have the Berkey and Gay mark in the wood and all are in near perfect original condition, even the stuffing for the pillows. I have no idea what to value them. I attached one picture of one of the chairs. One of them is a rocking chair and the other is a chair on small wheels. The BG mark is from the 1905-1929. Any ideas anyone? I can not find one picture of any of the three pieces anywhere on the net to give them a value.

Maybe you can show the chair with no pillows, please?
    And the mark.

Mission / quarter sawn oak stuff isn't the flavor of the month here in New England. It's nice stuff though, and I'd buy it in a heartbeat of the modern flat pack particle board crapola. No idea of current market values though.

They are beautiful pieces and would go great in a library in a home. or in a lodge. Damn..

Well, i think that is mostly correct but not altogether correct!:hilarious: How's that for taking both sides!
Mission still sells well & some for pretty big numbers but, collectors are looking for the BIG names like Stickley, Limbert, etc. because it's hand crafted which Berkey & Gay isn't, it was mass produced but, very good quality. I'd say one of the reasons there is strong demand for top Mission makers is, almost every city/town in America has at least 1 neighborhood of Craftsman era houses/bungalows. When you drop 1/2 a million or so on a 1910 craftsman house remodel, it's reasonable to drop a bit more on a statement mission piece or two, Mission "fits" these houses like a glove. I could be wrong about all this.
Wait for Brad, Mission is his thing.

In looking at the history of B&G furniture home page this is probably the reason you can't find examples, they pretty much passed on the movement
    "
1890 – 1915: . The company continued to produce whole suites for the parlor, bedroom, and dining room. Pieces were in Golden Oak or mahogany. Berkey & Gay’s Golden Oak pieces have very high relief in their carving, which ranged from grottoesque fantasy creatures to swirling French flourishes.

A few Arts and Crafts style suites were introduced in the first decade of this century under names like “English Modern,” but generally speaking Berkey & Gay passed on the whole movement."

Nice chairs. Unfortunately, B&G is not among the makers collectors want for mission furniture. The styling of your chairs is a bit too fussy for the purists. As James indicated above, they more follow the styling of English arts and crafts and almost look a bit churchy for our tastes. That said, they are very nice well made chairs and someone should be proud to own them.

As for value, it really depends. I would think that some people would be willing to pay a small premium for B&G items but we have not seen it in our market here in the Midwest. We have had several B&G pieces come through the shop and there is no recognition by the customers. This is not unique to B&G, as makers such as Henredon and Baker also get overlooked. I imagine big city buyers could be more sophisticated and your chairs, consequently, worth more there. In my market, I would be very lucky to get $300.00 for the pair. More realistically, under $200.00.

I do not see a picture of your side table so can not realistically comment. In my market, it is difficult to get more than $50.00 for a small simple oak side table.

Mine are very similar except the cushion on the back.
Thank you @verybrad I paid $100 for all three pieces, so I think I may come out of this with a bit of profit. I wish I had the room I would keep them myself. They are really beautiful and heavy and comfortable. Next time I will stick to the smalls. :)

Yeah, I was thinking that, rarity in this case does not equate to value, B&G just wasn't into the movement and it shows. In reading yesterday on Limbert, he went to Europe & studied the english & dutch design and production methods of arts & craft furniture, i suspect he wasn't alone on that score.
Still, for $100, I'd guess you will do well on a flip, that B&G label means quality to many collectors.

So next question. This is my first "flip". Try to sell myself? or consign? Any thoughts?

Again, depends on your market. You might try facebook marketplace or craigslist if either are active in your market.
