    Hello all, I bought this mug last summer while visiting Opishne, the center of Ukrainian ceramics. The mug is handmade and I watched the process of its creation. I even tried to "assist" the master who was making it. The mug is simple but remarkable as its capacity 1,5 litre (do not know in lb). It did not take long for the master to make it, but the next step was to burn it in a special oven for 8-12 hours. The process took place at night and watching tongues of flame at night was a picturesque view. They have their annual three days event on the last weekend of June. I would invite you to come and visit but this year it will be cancelled, unfortunatley. So, for now it's just the photo

    It is about 51 ounces or 1.5 quarts. Must be heavy when it is full. How fun to watch it be born. :)

    Maybe the festival will be on again next year! I would LOVE to visit the Ukraine! It's the home of many of my relatives, the ones I have never met.

    Hello antidiem, it's a pleasure to know that you would be interested in visiting Ukraine and the festival. Let's talk about it later, when the situation with the virus will come down. Meanwhile, if you have any information about your relatives I might be able to help you to find them.

    Thank you so much for your beautiful post, @Natasha , and for your suggestions. Indeed we shall see what the future brings, but if there is anything that I can help you with as well, while I am here on the mainland of the United States, please do not hesitate to contact me at any point.

    I ::thought:: my great-grandparents' family on my mother's side were all Polish, but a whole lot of Ukraine also appeared in my genetics. I haven't investigated any of it. Not yet. ;)

    And I still possess all of my old family secrets! ;)

    Let's keep in touch! :happy::joyful::kiss:

    A couple years ago I found relatives for the family in Seattle. And they came to visit their Ukrainian relatives. 100 years ago his great grandparents left for the US. So, that was the fourth generation. It was very touching for them to see the same photos both sides posess. They shared information about people in the photos, tell stories about the family members, and even cried.... I was impressed.
