    Hey folks!

I recently acquired these two silver items. One is a mug and another one a sugar bowl with cover.
Mug is the most interesting one. I can't figure out the maker, or even the silver probe on the handle. Makers mark leads me to Ukraine or Russia. Other marking (which is impossible to see with naked eye) seems to be something with 925 (I think). Before 925 there seems to some other marking. In my opinion Ukrainian coat of arms, but again, could be wrong. I added the best possible picture of the mark. My dad read with his magnifying glass, that the probe is 625 which doesn't seem right.

Other piece, bowl with cover - I see 800, but what could be the other marking on it?

    Any help is highly appreciated.

    Have a wonderful weekend,
    Erik

Hi Erik! The second one is Italian. Made between 1944 and 1968 by maker #97 in Firenze.

Here is what silvercollection.it has for that maker number in Firenze.

(For some reason it does not want to paste. I'll try another way)

No idea on the first one, but I'd give it house room any old time.

Lovely pieces ! I wonder if the cup actually held a glass insert ?

On the beautiful cup it looks something like 7X5 or 7X6 to me.

Looks like the cup could also be Italian. It is a beauty.

It appears to be Soviet era marking.
